Director McG Says He’d Be Open To Making CHARLIE’S ANGELS 3 Starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu

Director McG he started off behind the camera making music videos for tons of iconic 90s bands, and has since moved on to making many movies and TV series, but one of his most successful franchises was the two movies Charlie’s Angels and its sequel Charlie’s Angels: full throttle. Movies starred Drew Barrymore, Cameron DiazAND Lucy Liu, as well as a star-studded ensemble in every film. The movies were fun and action-packed, and it turns out McG would be willing to return for a third if the opportunity presented itself.

In a recent interview with EW while promoting the director’s upcoming Netflix comedy, Change of familyhero Jennifer garner AND Ed HelmsMcG said he’d be ready for another big adventure with Barrymore and crew, though he’s also very happy to “pass the torch” to another director.

“It would take a long discussion with those three wonderful artists that I adore. I was very happy to see Elizabeth Banks take the helm and do what she did, which was fun. There always seems to be talk about it. I’m very” I’m happy to discuss it with Drew, Cameron and Lucy, but at the same time I’m very happy to pass the baton. I mean, I love Tim Burton’s Batman movies, I love the new Batman movies. It’s just like there can be a keeper of the flame and you can pass the torch.”

He went on to say:

“Who knows? Maybe there’s one left in us who tells a very compelling story if the opportunity presents itself. I love the three of them so much. They put me on the map. They took good care of me when I was a rookie director. I’m I was close to firing me from that film on many, many occasions, and Drew stood by me and I will forever be in her debt. And obviously, these are three artists where God broke the mold. They don’t Don’t make them like this I mean, those are three specials.”

Barrymore said on her talk show last year that she’d be back for another film with Liu and Diaz “in a heartbeat.” “I’d be surprised if any of us decide not to [do a third movie]”, he said. “I would. I would do it in a heartbeat. The answer is a definite yes. I will always say yes.” In 2020, Barrymore also staged a Charlie’s Angels reunion for the first episode of his show, welcoming his former colleagues and longtime friends as the first guests.

I’d like to see another one Charlie’s Angels movies with these people involved! I love the first two movies and think it would be great to see them come back for another story.
