Netflix has ordered two new documentary projects. The first is the doc functionality Einstein and the bombdiscussing Albert Einstein’s complex relationship with Hitler, Germany, and the devastating aftermath of the atomic bomb in Japan.
“Einstein and the Bomb will combine Archie with dramatization and explore key moments in the path left by scientific genius Einstein, and how his work changes the course of history. Everything he says in the film is taken from words that he said or wrote ”.
BBC Studios is producing, with James Van Der Pool AND Andrew Cohen serve as executive producers e Antonio Philipson direct.
Next is the John Boyega-narrated Second World War: from the frontwhich is billed as a “moving and groundbreaking six-part documentary series” that uses “rare and spectacularly restored WWII footage, much of it shot by the soldiers themselves,” to create an immersive cinematic experience.
The 72 Films series will launch later this year. 72 Heads David Glover and Mark Raphael are EPs and Rob Coldstream is serving as director of the series.
Netflix also ordered another one Jack Whitehallset of documents with front side. The four parts Fatherhood with my father it will follow him and his father Michael on a journey of discovery and adventure in view of Jack’s imminent paternity. Jackpot Productions are producing, with Jack Whitehall among the EPs.
The UK-commissioned shows were unveiled this week at the Edinburgh Television Festival. Which project are you most looking forward to?
