The producers of THE CROWN say they filmed Princess Diana’s death with tremendous sensitivity

This week, during a celebration session of the Edinburgh Television Festival The crownexecutive producers Andy Harries AND Susanne Mackie revealed they filmed Princess Diana’s death with “tremendous sensitivity” as they prepare for what could be the most controversial moment in the show’s history.

The accidental death of Princess Di in 1997 will be featured in the first few episodes of the last season of The crown, which is expected to premiere later this year. Scenes were filmed over a two-week period last October, with Deadline reporting there was anxiety behind the scenes.

Mackie said:

“The show might be big and loud, but we’re not. We are caring people and we are sensitive people. There were very thoughtful and long conversations about how we were going to do it. The audience will ultimately judge it, but I think it was recreated with delicacy and care. Elizabeth Debicki is an amazing actress and was so thoughtful and thoughtful. She loved Diana. There’s a huge respect from all of us, I hope it’s evident.”

The series is looking to wrap up and give other shows a chance during awards season. Can’t wait to watch the final chapter of The crown on Netflix this fall?
