Stranger things has been wildly successful and with the show wrapping up with its upcoming fifth season, the cast and crew are sure to experience a lot of different emotions. This show launched the careers of many talented young actors, and after several years of working on the show, their time is running out.
While some actors can’t wait for the show to be over, like Millie Bobby Brown AND David Portsome actors, like Joe Keeryhave mixed feelings. During a recent interview, he admitted it seems like it’s time for the show to end, but he also said it won’t be easy to say goodbye. She told Women’s Wear Daily:
“It feels like it’s about time. It’s not going to be easy to end. I mean, I owe my entire career to being on that show and every opportunity I’ve had since then is because of that show.”
She went on to share her feelings:
“So it’s very convoluted. There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness. I guess my goal is to just soak it up as much as we’re doing it, and not take anything for granted because it’s been an amazing journey.” with amazing people. And then, once it’s done, moving forward and trying to hold onto the joy that we felt while we were making it… Everything has a beginning, a middle, and an end. It’ll be nice for this story to end, too.”
Kerry’s co-star Millie Bobby Brown has opened up about her desire for the show to end:
“I think I’m ready. It’s been a huge factor in one part of my life, but it’s like graduating from high school, it’s like senior year. You’re ready to blossom and bloom and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to craft your message and live your life.
As for David Harbour, he’s expressed a desire to end the show several times, comparing it to George Clooney leaving ER at the turn of the century.
“I think of George Clooney leaving ‘ER.’ Now we only see him as George Clooney, but there was a time when he was: The guy from ER is doing a movie with Nicole Kidman.’ I’m trying to deal with all of this, and it’s complicated because you don’t want to blame the people who love you for this thing that you did and you love too. But at the same time, you want to leave.” The nest. I have more in me. I have different things in me, and I want you guys to see it. I don’t want people yelling ‘Hopper’ in the street every five minutes for the rest of my life.”
Filming on the show’s fifth and final season was originally set to begin earlier this summer, before strikes from WGA and SAG-AFTRA delayed principal photography indefinitely. It is unknown when we will see the release of the fifth season.
