Raven Banner has released a trailer for a solid looking horror thriller titled Black moldand for a low-budget indie film, it looks a lot better than I expected. Black mold will bring some serious nightmarish scares for horror fans.
In the film “Photographer Brooke (Agnes Albright) and his friend Tanner (Andrew Bailes) sneak into abandoned, off-limits buildings for the sake of their art and also for the adrenaline rush. But when the daredevil pair break into their holy grail – Franklin Hill, a large facility with a history – they soon encounter a dangerously paranoid squatter (Jeremy Holm) which holds them captive. The longer the attacker keeps them there, the clearer it becomes that there is something else deeply wrong with that place, as dangers emerge at the intersection of artistic pursuits and internal sabotage.
As someone who likes to explore abandoned buildings, watching a trailer like this makes me reconsider some of my life choices. But hey, nothing bad has happened to me since I’ve been doing these things, so there’s no reason to stop now!
The film has already premiered at Panic Fast and will screen at FighFest, and their description says the story “introduces the pitfalls of urban exploration with hallucinogenic psychological horror.”
Black mold was written and directed by John Patta and is also the protagonist Caito Aase, Maisie MerlockAND Jeremy Holm. Black mold in select US theaters + on VOD later in 2023 – stay tuned for an exact date.
