Amazon Studios and MGM have released the trailer for Enemya new sci-fi romantic drama starring Saoirse Ronan AND Paul Mescal.
The film centers on Hen and Junior, who farm a secluded patch of land that has been in Junior’s family for generations, “but their quiet lives are thrown into turmoil when an uninvited stranger shows up on their doorstep with a surprising proposition.” . One of them is asked to join a space trip and when they leave, a robotic replica of the other will be created to stay with them on Earth. It’s more or less like this Black mirror season 6 episode, “Beyond The Sea”.
It is explained that “Foe’s mesmerizing imagery and lingering questions about the nature of humanity (and artificial humanity too) lead the not-too-distant future to a brighter life.”
The film comes from the director Garth Davis (Lion AND Mary Magdalene), and is also the protagonist Aaron Pierre. It is currently scheduled to premiere at the New York Film Festival. Enemy will be released in theaters starting October 6, 2023.
