Atari 2600+ retro console revealed that will play original game cartridges

The Atari 2600+ has been revealed and is described as a “faithful and modern recreation” of the classic console. Atari was launched 46 years ago in 1977 and was one of the first major modern home video game consoles.

The console was designed using “modern technology” and includes the system’s iconic CX40 joystick built to the same dimensions and layout. The Atari 2600+ runs on USB power and connects to the screen via HDMI and supports multiple resolutions.

The Atari 2600+ will launch on November 17, 2023 and pre-orders are available now for $130 USD. The ten games include:

  • Adventure

  • Fight

  • Dodge them

  • Haunted house

  • The maze mania

  • Missile command

  • real sports

  • Volleyball

  • To surround

  • Pinball videos

  • Yars’ Revenge

Plaion and Atari are also launching a bundle that includes the CX-30 paddle controller and a four-game bundle for $40. Games included in this bundle include Prison Break, Canyon Bomber, Night Driver, AND Video Olympics. Additionally, Atari will sell a standalone CX-40 joystick for $35. Finally, Atari will offer Berzerk- Improved edition AND Mister Run and Jump 2600 for $30 each.
