Henry CavillIt is the moment The sorcerer The series has come to an end, but he has plenty of other film and television projects in development that will keep him busy and happy. Cavill left the series after the third season and was replaced by Liam Hemsworthwho will take on the role of Geralt, which many fans are disappointed with.
We’ve heard many different reasons why Cavill dropped out The sorcerer. At the time, he was supposed to reprise his Superman role for DC, so some fans think he left for that. But he has never officially signed anything and Superman’s proposed project will never be realized James GunnThe DC Studios Rule.
Another reason given why he left was because he was frustrated with the way the creative team was handling the adaptation and how they were deviating from the source material, which is something he has openly expressed, so this is the most likely reason. .
But now, series director Marc Jobst he’s saying he believes Cavill left because the show was too demanding for the actor. He told ScreenRant:
“Well look, Henry has done three series, these are challenging shows to make, you know, they’re huge. Henry does every single beat of his stunts, he won’t even allow you a hand, if you’re doing a close-up scene of a hand that he grabs a sword, it has to be his hand. So, normally, what you do is bring in a stunt double, Henry goes off and shoots some other scene where he’s somewhere else, and you grab someone’s “Other in the hand, in so you don’t have to disturb your number one. Henry won’t, and as a result, the results are extraordinary. You’re working with an incredible athlete, first of all, who trains hours before and hours after, after shooting for 12 hours, and who cares deeply about the work that he does.”
The director went on to say that the process may “drain your number one dry,” suggesting that this may have contributed to Cavill’s decision to leave the series. Jobst also noted that “if he feels like he did what he could, I trust him.”
I honestly doubt that’s why. Cavill was obviously willing to put in the effort to make this the best show possible. But perhaps, given the direction the creative team was taking with the series, putting in that hard work for something that he felt wasn’t up to his own standards just wasn’t worth it. He was putting all of his energy into this show and the creative team was taking the story and the character in a direction that he wasn’t happy with.
I don’t think it was the hard work itself because Cavill puts the same hard work into all of his projects! He currently he is developing a Warhammer 40,000 cinematic universe with movies and TV shows with Amazon, and you can bet he’ll put the same kind of effort into those projects that he put into The sorcerer, and won’t abandon it because it becomes too physically demanding for him. I think Cavill likes the physical effort!
Regardless, maybe one day Cavill will open up about his departure and explain his reasons for why he left. Do you think the demanding nature of the show had an impact on Cavill’s decision to leave?
