James Gunn hilariously responds to ridiculous complaint that there are too many characters in SUPERMAN: LEGACY

Director James Gunn he has a lot to do, getting DC Studios in order and working on the films and projects he has undertaken. But that didn’t stop him from answering questions and comments on social media like he always did. In a recent interaction with a fan, he had a funny response to a complaint about his upcoming film, Superman: Legacy.

What we know so far about the film is this David Corenswet will star in the film as Clark Kent/Superman; Rachel Brosnahan will play his love interest, journalist Lois Lane; Nathan Fillion is cast as Guy Gardner, aka Green Lantern, Isabella Mercede will play Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi is cast as Mister Terrific e Antonio Carrigan will play the role of a superhero called Metamorpho, whose alter ego is the archaeologist Rex Mason. While this sounds pretty cool to most fans, one person asked Gunn about the number of characters in the movie on social media, and he had a pretty funny answer:

I understand that there may be some hesitation from fans about seeing superfluous superfluities thrown into a movie just for the hell of it, but I think Gunn has a good enough reputation at this point to give him the benefit of the doubt. He tells a good story and makes a good movie, so we should just wait and see what he has in store for us.

Superman: Legacy will launch the film portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. Filming is expected to begin in early 2024, right in line with the currently scheduled theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
