Director Peter Jackson is a big fan of the new indie horror blockbuster Speak with me, which is enjoying great success at the box office. This movie keeps getting good reviews from the people who go to see it. It is indeed a great horror movie and now the director behind movies like Bad Taste, The Frighteners and Lord of the Rings, praised the movie.

The director released a statement through Ahi, one of the film’s distributors in Aotearoa and Australia, in which he said that Talk to Me is one of the best horror efforts in recent years. He said:

“It’s relentlessly scary and creepy — in the best possible way, Talk To Me isn’t just beautiful — it’s very, very beautiful. The best and most intense horror film I’ve enjoyed in years.”

This is high praise from a filmmaker as talented as Jackson and I imagine the directing team, Danny AND Michael Philip, I’m over the moon for the compliment. Other filmmakers such as Jordan Peele (Out, us) and Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) also contacted the directors and were enthusiastic about the film, with Aster calling it a “special” film.
