We have three new promotional spots to watch The nun 2, and this film will tell you the story behind “the greatest evil in the conjuring universe”. This movie is sure to deliver some fun scares and gruesome thrills for the audience. While I didn’t really like the first Nun movie, this sequel seems to be much better.
The film is set in 1956 in France. “A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows sister Irene as she once again comes face to face with Valak, the demon nun.
In the story, there is a series of murders in the Vatican and the church believes that Valak is the cause. So they call Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) to help and face the nun again. Sister Irene is attempting to live a fairly anonymous life in a convent in Italy, but she doesn’t do so well when Valak, now possesses Irene’s friend Maurice (Jonas Bloquet).
The director of the film, Michael Chaves, previously explained that Sister Irene “has lived this traumatic experience, this great adventure, and now she wants to live the life of service. Maurice went to France and works in this boarding school as a handyman. He has a friendship and flirtation with one of the teachers there, and you can see him starting to mature, so that’s where our characters begin. But we know from the first film that there is something terrible inside him, that Valak has escaped inside him, and events put Irene back on a collision course with her old friend.”
Talking about Valak earlier, the director said, “I really think the nun is a classic cinematic monster.” He then dropped some horror movie characters he sees in the character, saying, “She reminds me of Pennywise and Dracula and Nosferatu. I see every classic monster when I look at her. I feel like she’s absolutely up there in that pantheon.”
The film is also the protagonist Storm Reid (The Last of Us), Anna Popplewell (The Chronicles of Narnia) AND Bonnie Aarons (The nun).
The nun 2 will be released in theaters on September 8. I guess this movie won’t be the last we see of The Nun.
