Poster and story details for Peter Dinklage’s remake of THE TOXIC AVENGER

Legendary Entertainment has released the first poster for its upcoming remake of The toxic avenger. It’s kind of weird that this movie was actually remade and has a pretty impressive cast led by Peter Dinklage who assumes the role of Winston Gooze.

The film is described as a “fresh retelling of Lloyd Kaufman’s classic The Toxic Avenger”, and it is explained that “while the original film (which premiered in 1984 – almost 40 years ago!) followed the fate by Melvin Ferd Junko III (Mitch Cohen), who goes from zero to toxic hero in a bullying case gone wrong, Macon BlairThe contemporary version of follows a horribly deformed creature of superhuman size and strength all its own.

Dinklage plays “downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze who, after falling into a vat of toxic waste, becomes none other than The Toxic Avenger. This timely retelling lives up to his eyes in environmental themes as Winston battles the evil forces of greed and corruption to save his son, his friends and his community.

The synopsis further notes: “While this story exists on its own terms, the spirit remains unquestionably connected to the original. Troma fans new and old will be pleased to know that the film was rated “R” for gore and gore, in true Troma tradition.

The film earned an R rating with “Strong violence and gore, language throughout, sexual references, and brief graphic nudity.” There are also “guts” we can’t forget to mention the “guts”.
