I’m sure most of us have fond memories of going to McDonald’s and getting a Happy Meal when we were kids. The idea originally came from Yolanda Fernández de Cofiño, a franchise owner in Guatemala. The idea to add a toy to the mix came from the corporate offices of McDonald’s.

The idea was to capture the same feeling children get when they take a toy out of a cereal box.
