Netflix has released the first trailer for a super intense movie titled Correctness. I saw this movie at Sundance earlier this year and it’s really a great movie! The film is the protagonist Alden Ehrenreich (Only, Hail Caesar!), AND Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton), both of which give incredible performance.
They play a young couple madly in love and engaged, but their relationship is pushed to the edge when one of them gets an unexpected promotion at the ruthless hedge fund they work for. As you can imagine, jealousy pushes things to the crazy extreme.
The synopsis reads: “In the wake of their new engagement, burgeoning New York couple Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich) can’t get enough of each other. When a coveted promotion to a cutthroat financial firm ensues, the supportive exchanges between the lovers begin to escalate into something more sinister. As the power dynamics irrevocably shift in their relationship, Luke and Emily must face the true price of success and the unnerving limits of ambition.
Corrin shared her review of the film: “I loved the dynamic that develops between Emily and Luke. It’s very similar to films like Basic Instinct and Disclosure, but with a more contemporary point of view that questions the true meaning of masculinity in this age of feminism and workplace equality.
“Fair Play could easily have come across as overly serious and preachy, but the voyeuristic focus on Emily and Luke’s relationship is hugely entertaining and easy to watch. It’s dramatic, absurd and sometimes violent. This is definitely not one you will want to miss!
The film was directed by Chloe Domont and is also the protagonist Eddie Marsan, Rich Sommer, Sebastian De Souza, Sia Alipour, AND Brandon Bassir.
