THE WALKING DEAD panel released first ten minutes of DARYL DIXON spin-off series, now streaming on AMC+

This past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, fans were able to attend AMC’s panel Walking Dead universe, and one of the highlights was seeing the first ten minutes of the first episode of the spin-off series, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The episode begins with Daryl (Norman Reedus) tied to a small capsized boat that is drifting on a deserted French beach. After regaining consciousness and washing up, he walks the streets of the city, boarding another boat to see what he can find. He comes across a bottle of water, a coat and a tape recorder. When he comes into play, a father he sees in a photo with his wife and daughter, explains: “19 months at sea. Hoping to keep up with this thing. Shot around Spain. No place is safe. We’ll try Marseille next time. Maybe the south of France is nice. There must be a safe place somewhere. Sue had a heart attack. We had to let her go. I had to… take care of her. Our 10th anniversary would have been in June. Holly keeps crying. He wants to go home.

Daryl then records a message from him, saying, “My name is Daryl Dixon. I’m from a place called the Commonwealth. It’s in America. I went out looking for something. All I found was trouble. If I don’t make it, I want them to know I tried. Hell, I’m still trying.”

He then searches a small shop, where he has to fend off walkers who appear to be immersed in an acidic liquid, which burns his arm. Daryl then has an encounter with a woman and her elderly father, who are confronted by men with guns in a truck. After a scuffle, Daryl awakens in a convent in the care of a nun he had previously seen in the distance. He connects with her as he tends to her wounds and also sees a child who lives there.

It’s a great and intriguing introduction into what looks to be a really exciting series. Check it out and see The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon when it debuts September 7 on AMC+ and September 10 on AMC.
