Noah Hawley and FX’s ALIEN Series Begins Production Without SAG-AFTRA Cast Members

Noah Hawleyfx extension Alien the series has started production in Thailand but at the moment filming is without SAG-AFTRA actors in the production due to the strike.

As of right now, let’s get to know the movie stars Sidney Chandler as the female protagonist. She will be joined by Alex Lawther (The end of the fucking world) as the male lead, a soldier named CJ, with Samuel Blenkin (Black mirror) as another main character named Boy Kavalier, a CEO. Other cast members include Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries) as Dame Silvia e Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger) as Slightly.

I should clarify that Chandler is not filming right now. They’re only shooting parts of the series that involve non-union actors. According to Deadline, “Three cast members are members of SAG-AFTRA and production is known to have reworked the filming schedule to delay their participation for as long as possible. Some of the other major players are members of the UK Equity union.”

The story of Hawley’s Alien “takes place before Ripley. It is the first story set in the Alien on Earth franchise. It has also been revealed that it will be set near “the end of this century that we’re in, so 70-odd years from now.” It will also be the first Alien story set on Earth.

The project will mix “both the timeless horror of the first Alien film with the non-stop action of the second, it will be a scary thrill ride that will bring people back to their places”.

Hawley has previously spoken about the series, saying, “It’s about how we’re trapped between the primeval past and the artificial intelligence of our future, where both [are] trying to kill us. It is set on the Earth of the future. Right now, I describe it as Edison versus Westinghouse versus Tesla. Someone will monopolize electricity. We just don’t know what it is.”

He went on to say, “It’s a story set on Earth as well. Alien stories are always trapped… Trapped in a prison, trapped in a spaceship. I thought it would be interesting to open it up a bit so that the stakes of ‘What if you can’t contain it?’ they are more immediate”.
