This weekend at SDCC 2023, Kevin Eastman personally announced that the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the animated series was purchased by Nickelodeon. This means that later this month the series will be released on Paramount+ and also on Nickelodeon television channels.
When Eastman was introduced to join the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Chaos panel, the first thing he said was that he just found out that not only has the original series been bought, but it will hit our screens later this month. All 193 episodes of the 1987 series!
TMNT is one of my favorite franchises. I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy every iteration we’ve been given so far. We were shown 20 minutes of Mutant Mayhem and it looks like a lot of fun. However, the original is still my favorite.
The show is set in New York City and follows the adventures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their allies as they battle Shredder, Krang, and numerous other insane criminals and criminals.
