Robert Downey Jr. she has acted in many great movies throughout her long career and put in amazing performances in those movies. There are many movies to choose from that fans might consider her best movie, some of my favorites are Chaplin, ZodiacAND tropical thunder.
But, during a recent interview with IndieWire, he said so Christopher Nolan’S Oppenheimer it’s the best movie he’s been in. Before the ongoing actors’ strike went into effect, the cast of the film appeared at the UK premiere and this is what they had to say:
“I’ll just say it: This is the best movie I’ve ever been in, and I can’t wait for you all to experience it.”
That’s really great praise. I have no doubt the movie will be amazing and I can’t wait to watch it! Nolan previously spoke about collaborating with Downey Jr. on the film saying:
“He’s one of our great actors, and even though a generation of kids know what a huge movie star he is, they haven’t seen his subtlety and brilliance. I wanted to get him to do something completely different, to lose himself in another human being. When was the last time we saw him? “Chaplin”? Directors are very aware of Downey’s talent, but due to the incredible energy he can hit the screen, finding just the right thing for him is difficult.
The epic thriller will thrust audiences into the “heart-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world to save it.” Nolan is such a strong storyteller and this film is going to be something special, it just feels like an incredible film that tells a fascinating story.
The film is the protagonist Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who ran the Manhattan Project that led to the creation of the atomic bomb during World War II. He is joined by Emilia Blunt as his wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer, Matt Damon as General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, e Robert Downey Jr. such as Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the United States Atomic Energy Commission.
The film is also the protagonist Florence Pug as psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, Benny Safdie plays theoretical physicist Edward Teller, Michael Angarano plays Robert Serber, Josh Hartnett plays pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence, along with Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Dan DeHaan, DylanArnold, David Krumholtz, Alden EhrenreichAND Matthew Modino.
The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer Of Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin. Oppenheimer is filmed in a combination of IMAX® 65mm and 65mm large format film photography that includes, for the first time ever, sections in IMAX® black and white analog photography.
Oppenheimer will be released in theaters on July 21, 2023.
