The production of the next comedy film has finished Grandmothers as a director Stephen Chbosky (Wonder, The perks of Being a Wallflower) and writer Liz Macci (Siren, A noisy Christmas at home).
The film is the protagonist Vince Vaughn (Swingers, dodgeball), Susan Sarandon (Thelma and Luisa), Lorraine Bracco (Good guys), Thalia Shire (Megalopolis), Brenda Vaccaro (Once upon a time in Hollywood), Linda Cardellini (Dead to me), Drea De Matteo (The Sopranos), Joe Manganiello (The killing room), Michael Rispoli (Power Book III: Raising Kanan) AND Campbell Scott (Domination of the Jurassic World).
Grandmothers is based on the true story of “Brooklyn native Joe Scaravella (Vaughn) who, after losing his beloved mother, realizes he has wasted single time in a dead-end job and longs for a second chance at life. Motivated by his Italian mother’s love of cooking, but with no culinary experience and low funds, he opens a restaurant unlike any other by hiring the most unlikely team of chefs, made up of grandmothers.
“Italian grandmothers prepare their Sunday lunches every day of the week (except Christmas and Easter) for those who need to feel at home. Joe finds a new purpose, community and love interest (Cardellini) in the process and, along with the grandmothers, discover that it’s never too late to start over.
It looks like a really fun little movie. Can’t wait to check it out. We will let you know as soon as the film has set its release date.
