DC fans seem pretty excited about that James Gunn launch Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern in Superman: Legacy. Fillion is going to be great in the role, and I love that he’s going to play a big part in the story that Gunn is trying to tell.
On social media platform Bluesky, Gunn was asked why he decided to go with Guy Gardner’s version of Green Lantern over Hal Jordan or John Stewart. The director responded by saying:
“I especially love the character of JLI, but it also fits the story I’m telling with Legacy.”
Fillion stars in the film together David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabella Merced such as Hawkgirl, e Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mr. Terrific.
The film will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, driven by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
Superman: Legacy will launch the film portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. It is expected to begin in early 2024, right on track for its currently scheduled theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
