The new animated series My Adventures with Superman recently debuted on Adult Swim and was an instant hit with critics and fans alike. This is a wonderfully refreshing take on Superman and it currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I’ve only seen the first episode, but I can’t wait to see the story unfold.
It has now been confirmed that a second season is on the way! This news was shared by series creator Jake Wyatt in response to a fan who claimed that Adult Swim had ordered two seasons, which is great news!
The series is described as “a serialized coming-of-age story that catches up with 20-something Clark Kent, bright and driven Lois Lane, and their best friend Jimmy Olsen as they begin to discover who they are and all they can accomplish together.” investigative reporting team at the Daily Planet.
The story follows Clark “as he builds his secret Superman identity and explores his mysterious origins. Lois, on her way to becoming a top reporter, partners with photographer Jimmy Olsen to tell the stories that matter. Meanwhile, Clark and Lois fall in love… while Lois gets ever closer to discovering her secret identity! Our trio share adventures, defeat villains, stumble upon secrets, and discover what it means to be heroes in their own right.
The second episode, titled “My Interview with Superman,” will premiere on July 13, followed by new episodes every Thursday. You can also watch episodes Fridays at 7:00 PM ET/PT on Adult Swim and Saturdays at midnight on Toonami. New episodes will also stream Fridays on Max.
The boys star Jack Quaid Superman voices, with Alice Lee like Lois E Ishmael Sahid like Jimmy. Have you seen the first episode yet? Are you happy to know that season 2 is in the works?
