All films nominated for the Ariel Awards 2023 available for streaming

Against all odds, the Press Ariel they return this year to celebrate the best of Mexican cinema. After overcoming the uncertainty of its cancellation last year, the gala organized by the Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMACC) will take place in Guadalajara, moving away from its traditional home in Mexico City.

The list of nominees for the 65th Ariel Awards released on June 20th, and some outstanding productions caught the attention of the audience. Topping the list is ‘Huesera’, a horror film that managed to garner a staggering 17 nominations. They are closely followed by “The North Over the Void” and “Bard, False Chronicle of a Few Truths”, with 16 and 12 nominations, respectively. On the other hand, “The Fall” follows the life of Mariel, a veteran diver who has one last chance to fulfill her Olympic dream. “Noiseis a powerful story that portrays widespread violence in Mexico and how it affects women. Giulia, a desperate mother, is looking for her missing daughter and in her search she will meet several women who have also suffered the consequences of the war in the country. cloak of gems

“cloak of gems” plunges us into a story full of intrigue and tension. After the disappearance of Mari’s sister, her family is forced to participate in criminal activities with Adán, the son of a local policeman. In addition to Mexican films, the Ariel Awards have also recognized outstanding productions from other Latin American countries. “Powerful Victoria” transports us to a city called La Esperanza, where a young mechanic, Durán, must choose between crossing the northern border or helping a group of resisting residents in the city.
