Legendary rock star of KISS Gene Simmons recently told a story of how Star Wars Creator George Luke ended up stealing his nanny. It all boiled down to an offer he made and the nanny couldn’t refuse. With the life Simmons has lived, there’s no doubt that he has a lot of wild and insane Hollywood stories, but one of the stories he recently thought to share is this:
“I mind my business and the phone rings. ‘Hello.’ “Hi Gene?” ‘Yes.’ “I’m George.” “Hi, George. George, who?” He Says, “George Lucas”. “George Lucas. So, how are you?” He says, “Oh, I’m really good. Say listen, I have two kids and I hear you have a great nanny who was a former teacher. I said, ‘Yeah. Oh, she’s the best and we love her because whenever there’s a lesson on anything she’s like, ‘Here’s the story, here’s why.’ And the kids are really getting a special thing.’ “Well, listen, I’d like to hire her. Would you let her go?” I say, “No, I won’t let her go…go get your nanny.” … She said, “No, no, I need someone special, and everyone tells me your children are the most educated and intelligent and all that. If you let her be my nanny, I’ll give her her 4,000 square foot house on two acres, hers hers, and she’ll be set up for life, which she’ll never have to worry about.’ I mean, what are you going to do? So, George Lucas stole my nanny.”
George Lucas is just capable of doing that kind of thing! I know money doesn’t bring happiness, but it sure would be nice not to have to worry all the time. Having nannies stolen by George Lucas is definitely a problem for the rich. I’ll never know what it’s like, it’s a good thing we have Simmons here to offer us that kind of insight.
