Trailer for Jim Caviezel’s anti-child trafficking thriller SOUND OF FREEDOM

Powerful trailer for Jim Caviezel’it’s the upcoming movie Sound of Freedom, which is a film against child trafficking. The film comes from Angel Studios and tells the true story of Tim Ballard, a former National Security agent who left the department after becoming frustrated by US rescue efforts with children trafficked to third world countries. It feels like a great movie and tells one of those stories that need to be told.

The film “shines a light even in the darkest places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent discovers that the boy’s sister is still captive and sets out on a dangerous mission to rescue her. With time running out, she quits her job and heads into the Colombian jungle, risking her life to free her from a fate worse than death.

This movie is seeing big box office pump with $7.2 million in advance ticket sales ahead of its July 4th opening in 2,626 theaters. The film opens on Independence Day due to its patriotic themes. According to Deadline, the distributor has a goal of selling 2 million tickets for the Tuesday opening of Sound of Freedom, which represents the number of children abducted around the world. Angel has crowdfunded $5 million for P&A expenses on Sound of Freedom, part of that policy is rewarding their donors with a 120% return.

The film was directed by Alexander Monteverdewith whom he co-wrote Rod Bar. The film is also the protagonist See Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite) plays Katherine Ballard and Bill Camp (Lincoln, 12 years a slave) plays “Vampire,” Ballard’s right-hand man.

Ballard founded Operation Underground Railroad in 2013, which has conducted several sting operations to rescue children, some outside the United States, and has donated technology and funds to law enforcement agencies fighting sex trafficking.
