Sacha Baron Cohen he is said to be reviving his classic Ali G character! This is the character with which he basically launched his career From Ali G Show. This exciting news was dropped by entertainment scooper Jeff Sneider, and he revealed that he’s heard there’s an Ali G project currently in development.
No details have been provided on what this project will entail, but it will be fun to see this character in action again! Sneider believed the project would be a film, not a series. Cohen made a movie with Ali G in 2002 with Ali G InDaHouse.
Sneider said, “Sacha Baron Cohen is bringing back his character, Ali G. “I hear Ali G is something that is in the works… They made Borat 2 completely under wraps. I broke the story on Borat 2 and it wasn’t until that movie was basically screened. So it’s kind of crazy how he’s in solitary has everything, but I hear there’s something going on.”
He went on to say, “I think there are also people in the comments who are like, ‘Who is Ali G?’ “I think he pranks a lot of people. I just think we need more comedy in general. No Hard Feelings is scheduled to have a $12 million opening this weekend, and that’s not going to get Hollywood excited about doing more comedy, but it takes people like Sacha Baron Cohen who can go and do their own thing, and not they need permits or something”.
Ali G was a hilarious character and I’m thrilled Cohen will be back with him! Da Ali G Show ran for three seasons on Channel 4 and later on HBO from 2000 to 2004. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out! If you know Ali G, are you excited to hear that he’ll be back?
