James Gunn casts David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Superman and Lois Lane in SUPERMAN: LEGACY

Director James Gunn has officially launched David Corenswet such as Clark Kent/Superman e Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane in her upcoming DC Studios film Superman: Legacy.

There have been many discussions and reports about casting the lead roles in this film but now it is done and the director will start building a supporting cast around these two actors.

The decision came shortly after Gunn e Peter Safran screen tests shot with different actors in costume. These were actually my two hopes! Corenswet has that Superman look, and from what I’ve seen of his work, he’s a good actor. As for Brosnahan, when I first learned she was up for the role, my first thought was…”She’s Lois Lane!” She is perfect for the character and I think she will steal the show.

I’m very happy and excited about this casting, and I’m excited to see what other actors join them. It was previously reported that Alexander AND Bill Skarsgard they were ready for the role of Lex Luthor. Nicolas Hoult was initially on that list, but then was considered for the role of Superman. Maybe now he’s back in the running for Lex.

Gunn is also looking to cast Jimmy Olsen and members of a superhero team called The Authority. The story will involve “Superman joining a world where superheroes already exist” which will be interesting.

The film will introduce a new version of Superman and tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, driven by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.

Superman: Legacy will launch the film portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. It is expected to begin in early 2024, right on track for its currently scheduled theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
