Ray StevensonThe death of came as a shock to fans. He was such a great actor and his upcoming role of him in Star Wars: Ahsoka it was something we were all excited about! Sounds like you’re playing such an awesome and badass character!
During a recent interview with Total Film Magazine, executive producer of the Ahsoka series Carrie Beck she talks about working with Stevenson saying her “presence loomed over the set” and explained, “Throughout production, she had an infectious enthusiasm and gregariousness that she shared with her colleagues and crew.”
Beck also praised Stevenson’s performance saying he “brings Baylan a philosopher’s depth that pairs well with his towering physical strength.”
Stevenson takes on the role of a former Jedi warrior named Baylon. He survived Order 66 by fleeing to the Unknown Regions, and is believed to be an ally of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). Baylon is also the teacher of Shin Hati, by whom he is played Ivanna Sakhno. Shin is said to wield the dark side of the Force and has a loose alliance with the Nightsisters, who are the Witches of Dathomir who have been explored in Star wars the battle of the clones. She was unleashed to bring down Ahsoka.
Beck continued on the actor’s untimely loss, saying, “It’s still hard to comprehend that he won’t be here to experience the result of his hard work. At the Star Wars celebration last April he was so thrilled with the outpouring of love from Star Wars fandom. We will all miss him terribly.”
It was at the Star Wars celebration that Stevenson spoke about collaborating with David Filoni, saying, “And the thing about Dave that most people probably don’t realize a problem with that overwhelming talent and skill and mastery of it is his incredible knack for collaborating and giving you the freedom to bring your ideas on board and, and, and, and ask the questions and then if it’s okay, that’s great.
He added, “And, and that also means from costume ideas to combat to that, certain lines and nothing is set in stone. It creates a flowing river and it’s also free enough to see where it’s going to go. It’s going to go. And for an actor, it’s just like some, you, imagine going into something that’s just going to be stiff, that’s how it works, that’s what we want, but it’s not like that at all. you feel like you’re part of a family that’s been, you’re brought into this amazing family and everyone works together”.
The show will pick up where Star Wars: Rebels interrupted and the search for Ezra Bridger begins. The series is set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka “follows former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) while investigating an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
That threat is Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), and Ezra departed with him to an unknown place. Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) joins Ahsoka on her journey, and is still very dedicated to finding Ezra. They will be joined by Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), most likely the droid, Chopper and Zeb will also return. The series is also starring Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ivanna SakhnoAND Eman Esfandi like Ezra.
