Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will finally be released later this week and during a recent interview, Harrison Ford talked about the film and why it took fifteen years to make.
It’s pretty crazy to think that we’ve actually gotten another sequel to this franchise that launched way back in 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark! Indiana Jones had some crazy adventures that we saw in movies like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in 1984 and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Yes, there was a fourth movie, but most fans don’t they seem to want to acknowledge its existence.
Ford was interested in revisiting the character again, though, and the creative team came together and came up with a story they liked that would see Jones go on one last journey, and it’s a story they all liked enough to want to bring to life. life. Ford told Digital Spy:
“There were some interesting ideas that were pitched, but they didn’t materialize for a period of time. And then we came up with an idea and a script and a strong story that we wanted to tell. I’m very happy with the story that we’re telling .
“We’re coming to the end of Indiana Jones’ time on the planet, and I wanted to see a conclusion to his story that fits the reality of his age, and what effect it has on this person that we’ve come to know about the years.”
Ford went on to talk about the feelings he had when he hung up his hat and whip for the last time:
“The feeling I had is the feeling you get when you’ve done something, and you can look at it, or you can remember doing it, [and having] the satisfaction of committing oneself and getting something worthy out of it.
“I felt a sense of peace, a sense of fulfillment, that this particular work that [James Mangold] and me and everyone else involved had done it together, it ended up in a way that I felt was really satisfying. My hope is that others find it as satisfying as me.”
It’s good to know that Ford is satisfied and happy with the work he did on this latest Indiana Jones movie. He was amazing in the role and watching Ford in action in this film is the main reason you want to see him. Audiences will be torn apart by the story, but I had a blast! The film takes you on a truly incredible adventure!
