If you ever find yourself in a conversation with Harrison Fordmake sure you stay away from topics involving his old movies, because he’s not interested in talking about them.
During a recent interview with Games Radar, the actor was asked Raiders of the Lost Arkand in response to this question, he said:
“I never think that way. That’s the kind of thing you guys think! I just want to get through the fucking day with some self-respect. And that usually happens when there’s a connection to a director very strong .”
It seems that Ford doesn’t like to talk about anything with normal people in general. He’s previously spoken about how he hates people who ask him silly questions about his fan-favorite characters Han Solo and Indiana Jones. Ford went on to say:
“And I was lucky enough to work with the old school. And the new school. I went to kindergarten, I went to kindergarten with the movie giants. And then the world changed, and there’s a new vein of genius.
“And I mean, my luck is…my career story is about how much there is to learn and how many great teachers are out there. And how the experience changes you every time. And I’m sure you have this as a director. That’s why we do it, to reinvent ourselves, to reorganize our ambitions.”
At 80, I understand that time is precious to Ford and he wants to spend time talking about meaningful things and working with people who help take his life and career to new and interesting places. Ford also seemed grumpy, though. Regardless, that guy has had a pretty amazing life and career.
