Netflix has released a trailer for a fascinating new adventure exploration documentary titled Unknown: The Lost Pyramid. I enjoy this sort of thing and have been interested in the history of Egypt and the pyramids since I was a child. This is a four-part docuseries following two of the world’s most famous Egyptologists, Dr. Zahi Hawass and his protégé and rival, Dr Mostafa Waziri as they race to find the next big discovery.
“In the desert sands of Saqqara, the last hotspot of Egyptian archeology, two of the world’s most famous Egyptologists seek to unearth ancient treasures. The legendary Dr. Zahi Hawass searches for the lost pyramid of a forgotten Egyptian king, while his protégé and rival, Dr. Mostafa Waziri, searches for an unlooted tomb in an ancient necropolis. Both teams are racing against the clock to see who will make the biggest discovery and make their mark on history.”
This is the kind of thing I’d love to do! This is what I want to do for work! It just feels like such a thrilling expedition and adventure!
Unknown: The Lost Pyramid is directed by documentary filmmaker Max Salomon, who worked previously National Geographic Explorer. Netflix will debut the docuseries on July 3, 2023.
