James Mangold describes his film SWAMP THING as a Frankenstein-like gothic horror film

“While I’m sure DC sees Swamp Thing as a franchise, I would see it as a very simple, neat gothic horror movie about this man/monster… I’m just doing my thing with this, just a standalone.”

Mangold added that he had “played with the idea of ​​making some kind of Frankenstein movie for years,” for years before collaborating with James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios, and this Swamp thing the movie will be that. Mangold is a big fan of Swamp thingand this is a film project he’s been pursuing for a while.
