Zack Snyderhas shared a new poster for its upcoming sci-fi action thriller rebel moon, and included the following caption: “War comes to every world.” The poster portrays Sofia Boutella as Kora standing in a field holding a blaster, while the first hints of war can be glimpsed in the sky behind her.
Over the weekend, a behind-the-scenes featurette for the film was released, and you should check it out here if you haven’t already. The film is heavily inspired by Star Wars because Lucasfilm originally pitched it as a Star Wars film. They rejected the project, but we will continue to see Snyder’s vision of Star Wars rebel moonwhich is pretty cool!
The story follows a group of rebel rebels who rise up to fight against a gigantic evil empire. It is set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical regent Balisarius. They send a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them make a stand against the Tyrant. You can find out many more details about the series here.
Snyder previously spoke about the project, saying, “This is me growing up like Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan. It’s my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this too becomes a huge IP and a universe that can be built.”
This is a two part film and each part will have an R-rated edition for fans to watch as well. The film is the protagonist Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huismann, Anthony Hopkins, AND Alfonso Herrera.
Part before rebel moon is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on December 22 after a limited theatrical release.
