Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming live-action adaptation of the hit manga series A piece. The series actually looks like it could be a lot of fun! The anime series is great and this adaptation definitely makes an attempt to capture the same energy. We’ll just have to wait and see if the creative team can pull this off effectively.
A piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Inaki Godoy) and his crew of pirates as they explore a fantasy world of endless oceans and exotic islands in search of the world’s greatest treasure known as “One Piece” to become the next Pirate King.
The other main characters include Zoro (Mackenyu), nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson) and Sanji (Taz Skylar).
Steven Meda is co-writer, showrunner and executive producer of the series along with Matt Owens, who is also a co-writer and executive producer. The series is also starring Morgan Davis (The Wicked Dead) like Koby, Ilia Isorelys Paulino (The sex lives of college girls) as Alvida, Aidan Scott (Action point) like Helmeppo, Jeff Ward (Tricks) such as Stroller, McKinley Belcher III (Ozarks) as Arlong, e Vincent Regano (Troy) as Garp.
The 10-episode series comes from Shueisha, publisher of Tomorrow Studios and One Piece. Open Ice will be released on August 31st! Excited?!
