While the fans are still enjoying it Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse In theaters, Sony Pictures Animation has developed a short film set in the Spider-Verse titled The inner spider. This short film offers Miles Morales his own horror story.
The Wrap presented a first look at the short film, which you can see above, and the film’s story focuses on “what happens when Miles Morales (once again played by Shameik Moore) begins to feel the pressure of his life as Spider-Man, which results in a scary little trip through his subconscious.
The short film was directed by Jarelle Dampier, who said in an interview: “My favorite genre is horror. I think it’s the perfect envelope to give big messages, especially to younger audiences, and I think it’s something we’ve shied away from for a long time. But I think if you take a character that kids really love and put them in a thrilling situation, I think they really benefit from that. I say children, but I’m really talking about all of us. I’m talking about the child inside us, you know what I mean? The ability to use something scary with something we love, I think it’s the combination to get points, keep the landing in the movie.”
The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story is a short film created through Sony’s LENS program and was written by Khaila Amazan. The crew also includes the VFX supervisor Clare ChanAnimation supervisor Joe Darkoand Manufacturers Michelle Raimo-Kouyate AND David Schulenburg.
