Netflix has released a new trailer for his Skull Island animated series, set in the cinematic Monsterverse of Legendary with King Kong and Godzilla. It looks like a fun and thrilling series, and it could very well end up being better than the last two live-action movies that have been made! It seems like this series really knows how to handle its human characters. I really like what I saw in this trailer!
Skull Island takes viewers on “a thrilling adventure as a group of kind-hearted explorers rescue Annie from the ocean, unaware that their act of heroism will lead them to the treacherous Skull Island. This enigmatic place is home to bizarre creatures and terrifying monsters, including the mighty titan himself, Kong.
The ensemble voice cast for the series includes Nicola Cantu (Dragons Rescue Riders: Heroes of the Sky, The Fabelmans) lending his voice to Charlie. I’m with him Mae Whitman (Family Guy, DC Super Hero Girls) as Annie, Darren Barnett (Never Have I Ever, Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles) like Mike, Benjamin Bratt (Poker face, Coco) as Cap, e Betty Gilpin (Mrs. Davis, glow) as Irene.
The series is created, written and executive produced by Brian Duffield (Cocaine bear, love and monsters). The animation was done by Powerhouse Animation who have also worked on shows such as Castlevania AND Blood of Zeus.
Legendary Television’s all-new animated series will debut June 22, exclusively on Netflix.
