Andy Muschietti will become one of the directors who made one of the best DC movies ever with the upcoming film The flash. That being the case, it’s no surprise that DC Studios heads James Gunn AND Peter Safran would like to continue working with him. You are just a talented director and storyteller.
THR is now reporting that Muschietti is the “top choice” to direct the previously announced Batman film The brave and the daring. While the director is the top choice, there is no official agreement. I’m guessing the studio won’t move forward on any of these future DC projects until after the writers’ strike is over.
The brave and the daring will be inspired by Grant MorrisonThe beloved Batman comics spin and will focus on Bruce Wayne’s relationship with his biological son, Damian Wayne. This is said to be one of Gunn and Safran’s favorite projects.
Speaking about this project, Gunn said, “So this is the introduction of the DCU Batman, Bruce Wayne, and it also features our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a son of a bitch, murderous killer, who unwittingly assumes, who is the actual son of Batman who he doesn’t know exist for the first 8-10 years of his life, and he brings into his life and that’s a story. It’s kind of a very weird father son story about the two of them. And it’s based on the run by Grant Morrison on Batman There are a couple of comic book writers who have been exceptionally influential on our stuff and Grant Morrison and Tom King are probably the main two.
I’d actually like to see Muschietti jump on board and direct The brave and the daring. I loved what he did The flash, and I think he would do something really cool and awesome with a Batman movie! He has already had the opportunity to play with two different Batman characters The flashit makes sense for him to play with a third.
