RLJE Films and Shudder have acquired the rights to Erica GrahamHP Lovecraft-inspired erotic thriller titled Suitable meat. They’ve also released the image above giving us our first look at Graham in the film.
The film is based on Lovecraft’s short story, “The Thing on the Doorstep,” and the story follows psychiatrist Elizabeth Derby (Graham), “who becomes obsessed with helping a young patient suffering from an extreme personality disorder. But her desire to help leads her into dark, hidden peril as she tries to escape a horrific fate.
Chief Acquisitions Officer of RLJE Films, Mark Ward said in a statement: “The Suitable Flesh cast led by Heather Graham brings layered and complex performances to this new take on Lovecraft. We are thrilled to premiere this film at Tribeca, especially with longtime collaborators, actor/producer Barbara Crampton and director Joe Lynch.
The film was adapted by the writer Dennis Paul (Resuscitator) and directed by Joe Lynch (Chaos). The film is also the protagonist Judas Lewis (The nanny), Barbara Rampton (Jacob’s wife), Bruce Davison (X-Men franchise) and Johnathon Schaech (The Generation of Destiny).
The film will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival. It hits theaters, VOD, and digital later this year, and then makes its Shudder debut.
