With Peter Pan AND Cinderella both get fairytale horror-movie treatments, it only makes sense that Sleeping Beauty gets one, too. Bloody-Disgusting has revealed that the production company itself is making The Curse of CinderellaChampDog Films, is making The Sleeping Beauty Massacre.
In the film, “Beautiful Princess Thalia is thrown into ruin after her father’s mysterious death. She lives with Prince Edison with whom she is in love but she can no longer marry since she has lost her status. Queen Velma wants the kingdom for herself and will use her dark powers and use of the occult to take over by any means necessary.
It is explained that “Velma throws Thaila into a deep sleep never to wake up, until one day she does and her web of lies starts to fall around her. Violent twist after twist will ensue with gory and graphic deaths.
Sounds like a damn good time! The film will be produced and directed by Louise Warren (The Curse of Cinderella) from a script written by Jasmine Ebony Thomas. Warren said in a statement, “This movie is going to turn everything upside down as you know it. It’s wild, dark, and downright awful. I am setting out to create the most uncomfortable horror experience to date. There will be lies, blood and a great slaughter. If you look back at the source material, there’s just so much to play with.
The film is the protagonist Lora Christova as Princess Thalia, along with Lila Lasso, Leah Glater, Robbie Taylor, Sophia Rankin, Charlotte Colemann AND Judy Cherniak. Production will begin this August in the UK.
