Metal Gear Solid AND Stranding of death Creator Hideo Kojima shared his thoughts on the latest installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast X. Kojima is a great storyteller, and I was really curious to see what he thought of this film. A lot of fans didn’t really like the movie and I see a lot of people saying it’s the worst installment of the franchise. So what did Kojima think?
“I was on a business trip, so I watched Fast X a week late. I had no sleep after a morning flight to Haneda, so I usually fall asleep when watching movies at these times, but I’ve been waking up since the movie started. I’ve been watching this series for 20 years, but who died? Who’s gone? Who was the enemy? Who has become an ally? I didn’t remember much, but it didn’t matter anymore, I got a push.
I guess that pretty much sums it all up! We have one or two of these films left. Vin Diesel previously teased a trilogy and a few spinoffs. There’s no doubt that Universal Pictures will want to keep this franchise alive as long as it keeps making the big bucks.

When previously talking about the latest installment of the franchise, director Louis Letterier wants fans of the Fast and Furious franchise to know that this latest film is unlike any other film in the franchise. He said:
“I mean, ‘Star Wars’ is a different thing, but I feel like here you know where it ends. Also, even from a taste point of view, I know what I love about the franchise and what I want to bring forward. So I was very much about that, about the characters , about bringing reality to life, bringing cars and racing to life, and all that stuff Yes, I agree with Michelle [Rodriguez]. Don’t go see this movie as a regular “Fast and Furious” movie. The emotion won’t be the same.”
The director went on to talk about the film’s breathtaking ending, saying:
“It really ends on a cliffhanger. But I wouldn’t have accepted it, I think nobody would have accepted it, if we hadn’t gotten to the end of the franchise. What we have, as we were on set, is basically understanding where this franchise is going to end. So, because we know that, we’re able to not only create this cliffhanger, but also seed all the elements we’ll need to fully develop the entire franchise into what we hope will be a very satisfying ending. Sad, but satisfying. Then, we’re able to do all those things, because we knew where we were going. If you don’t know where you’re going, it’s impossible. I never understand how movies can be greenlit without that. I’m like, okay, you’re heading to a catastrophe.
We’ll just have to wait and see how the next few films in the series play out. I don’t expect them to improve, but we’ll see.
