Rebel Wilson just announced his upcoming directorial debut with the upcoming film The debt, a big screen adaptation of the titular Australian musical comedy. Now Wilson has some more exciting news, as she told Variety she recently auditioned for a role in the upcoming James Bond film.
Wilson explained that he had to clear some Bond-related jokes with the producers before the awards, which put them in direct contact and eventually led to an audition.
“What was really cool was auditioning for Bond,” said Wilson, who stressed that the role she applied for wasn’t actually James Bond, but rather another character in the film. The audition took place last year, though the star has been coy about whether or not she got the gig.
The next installment of the popular franchise is currently in the script stage. Broccoli and Wilson told Variety last year that finding the new Bond “isn’t just about casting an actor for a film. It’s a reinvention. An oft-discussed favorite for the role is Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
