Hey Arnold! It was one of the great animated shows of the 90s. I watched it from time to time and even though I didn’t follow it very closely, I still recognized it as a great show. Fans recently created a petition to bring back a canceled spin-off show idea, The Patakis. This spin-off would have featured Helga starring her throughout her high school years. It would focus on themes for older children and family dysfunction. Ultimately, it was seen as “too dark” for Nickelodeon and too similar Darya for MTV to pick up at that time. In 2013 a fan-made petition got 15,000 signatures and reinstated the 15-year undo Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie.
Now fans are hoping to recreate their hits in getting another canceled Hey, Arnold! Resurrected project. This new petition was led by the artist Spike R. Monster who you should definitely follow if you don’t already. You may recognize his work doing the couch gag in episode 22 of season 33 of The Simpsons. This project looks like it would be a really cool show to come back to. While I don’t remember many details of Hey, Arnold! I remember having some really emotional and touching moments that I hope will happen again with Helga. Check out the campaign video below and consider signing the petition and follow theirs Twitter if you think this show deserves a chance.
