Florence Pug began his career in independent films such as Lady Macbeth, Arguing with my family, Mid summerAND Little Women. She gained a huge fan base right away and had movie fans watching her to see what she picks up next down the road. Many of us were thrilled to see her join the MCU, playing Yelena Belova Black Widowand doing an incredible job, but Push says some people were disappointed to see her join the mainstream cinematic universe.

In a recent interview with Time magazine, Pugh said that many people in the indie film community were “pissed” at her when she decided to join the MCU. She explained:

“So many people in the independent film world were really pissed at me. They said, ‘Great, now she’s gone for good.’ And I’m like, no, I’m working as hard as I used to work. I’ve always done back-to-back movies. It’s just that people are watching them now. You just need to be a little more organized with your schedule.

While Pugh hit the mainstream with his Marvel role, he hasn’t turned his back on indie films. Between Marvel movies, he’s filmed Sebastian LelioThe drama backed by Netflix The wonder and garnered critical acclaim for her role. She recently starred Zach Braffthe latest independent directorial work by, A good person.

In March, Pugh told Total Film magazine that some people in the industry told her she was “never going back to small movies” after making the leap to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“It always made me angry. Because I think there’s beauty in all kinds of those movies. There’s beauty in huge, epic storylines like “Dune,” like Marvel, like even “Oppenheimer” that I’ve done. They are great, mega movies. And then there’s also the beauty in all these little ones that not everyone will see, but they will strike the right person at the right time. I never, ever thought I’d make just one type of film. I’ve always known that I want to dabble in all areas.

Lightning is the next Marvel project in which Pugh will reprise her character Yelena, and will hit theaters in July 2024. Before that, Pugh will star in Christopher Nolan’S Oppenheimer and will be making her debut in yet another major studio franchise: she plays Princess Irulan Denis Villeneuve’S Dune: second partjoining a young cast that includes the likes of Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya AND Austin Butler.

I love Pugh in the MCU and any other movies he chooses to be a part of. I look forward to everything he has.
