Keanu Reeves was going to be a part of ‘Fast and Furious’ but he turned it down twice

The charismatic actor was in talks to play a character in the tenth installment of this successful action saga “Fast X”, but unfortunately the plans did not materialize. Ritchson himself revealed a Entertainment Weekly That initially the casting team was looking for Keanu Reeves to play Aimes, the new leader of The Agency in the film, who would eventually betray Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel. However, the stars didn’t align and the role was left in Ritchson’s hands.

In an interview, the talented actor shared the details of how he came to land this coveted role: “It was just luck and good timing. I was working on a film with Hilary Swank in freezing Winnipeg when I got a call informing me that there had been changes regarding Keanu Reeves, who was originally going to play me”.

Ritchson acknowledged following in Reeves’ footsteps was a difficult task, admitting that he even considered abandoning the project due to “timing issues,” especially after a historic blizzard hit Winnipeg and halted production. Luckily, they managed to overcome the hurdles and were able to change the dates to continue filming.

A role in ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ was also turned down by Keanu Reeves

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Reeves has been considered part of the Fast and Furious family. According to reports, he was also scouted for a role in Hobbs & Shaw in 2019, but ultimately did not join the cast.
