The legendary ship The Queen Mary is the subject of a new psychological horror film titled… Queen Mary and is led by Dracula never told director Gary Shore.
The film is set at Vertical Entertainment and the story chronicles “the mysterious and violent events surrounding a family’s voyage on Halloween night in 1938 and how their fates intertwine with those of another family aboard the ocean liner until the our days”.
It is explained that the haunting story unfolds “between the ship’s heyday in the late 1930s and the present and tells the story of two families whose lives become violently intertwined.”
The cast of the film includes Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Joel Fry (game of Thrones), In the Hudson (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), William Shockley (Death in Texas), AND Lenny Rush (Am I unreasonable?).
The Queen Mary is docked in Long Beach, California and has earned a reputation as “One of the Most Haunted Places in the World”. The ship has a long history of visitors reporting seeing ghosts and visions in its rooms and decks, making it the perfect setting for paranormal happenings on the big screen.
Vertical partner Peter Yarowey said in a statement, “We were immediately intrigued by the chilling and macabre story the filmmakers have woven together in The Queen Mary. We’re sure audiences and horror fanatics alike will flock to experience it this summer.
The producers added, “We were blown away by Vertical’s passion for Gary Shore’s clever and twisted take on a great British and American legend. We know this team will be the perfect U.S. distribution partner to record the next chapter in this vessel’s historic and haunted story.”
Looks like this is going to be an incredibly fun horror movie! The screenplay was written by Stephen Oliver AND Tom Vaughan wrote the screenplay with revisions by Shore. The film is produced by Brett Matthew Tomberlin of the design works of the imagination, Thorsten Schumacher of rocket science, Lars Sylvest, Nigel Sinclair AND Nicola Ferrall by White Horse Pictures, e Mali elf.
