Lucasfilm has released a must-see featurette for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The promo includes interviews with cast and crew members such as the director James Mangold, Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller BridgeAND Kathleen Kennedyand talk about the legacy of Indiana Jones and what kind of story they wanted to tell for the latest Indy adventure.
Ford says in the promo that “it felt good and they had made a film that the audience deserved. I’m confident we’ll knock his socks off. The film recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and early reactions were positive. The film received a five-minute standing ovation and brought Ford to tears. Can’t wait to see this movie!
The film is set in 1969 during the space race, with Indiana Jones drawn into another great adventure, involving Voller, a NASA member and former Nazi involved in the moon landing program, who wants to “rectify the world and turn it into a best place as he sees fit”. He is trying to correct the mistakes Hitler made when he was in power with the Dial of Destiney artifact.
The film comes from the producer Steven Spielberg, and is also the protagonist Mads Mikkelsen (Another round), Boyd Holbrook (Logano), Shaunette Renee Wilson (The resident), AND Thomas Kretschmann (The Avengers: Age of Ultron).
The film will be released in theaters on June 30, 2023.
