1883 emerging actress Isabella May is set to star opposite Jurnee Smollett in the upcoming Lionsgate thriller Sunflower. Misha Green (Country of Lovecraft) is directing the film, which will be his feature debut, from a screenplay he wrote.
The story follows two women who struggle “to escape a deranged college professor who is holding them hostage on a remote sunflower farm.” It looks like it’s going to be a pretty intense movie.
May was great in 1883, which was the prequel series to the Yellowstone spinoff. She was also previously cast in DC Studios’ Wonder Twins movie before it was cancelled. It’s great to see her land another solid film role. Her other film credits include the romantic comedy Prime Video I want you back with Jenny Slate AND Charlie Dayas well as independent films such as The moon and back, Run Hide Fight AND Let’s scare Julie.
May will also star in the upcoming independent film slap himwith Casey Affleck, Marisa Tomei, Katie Bates AND Alan Arkin.
Green will also produce the film together Craig Floreswith Meredith Wick AND Aaron Edmond project supervision for Lionsgate.
