Director David Mamet (Glengarry Glen Ross, Wag the dog) is set to direct a thriller titled JFK Murder and has assembled a great ensemble cast for the project! That cast includes Al Pacino (The Godfather), Vigo Mortensen (Green Book), John Travolta (pulp Fiction), Shia LaBeouf (Honey boy), Rebecca Pigeon (Robbery) AND Courtney Love (The people versus Larry Flynt).
The film will offer a new take on the assassination of John F. Kennedy, but this time it will be told from the point of view of the mob, “reimagining his death as a hit ordered by Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana as revenge for the attempted JFK to undermine the mob after helping him get elected (that thread formed a big part of Oliver Stone JFK).”
Mamet co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Nicholas Celozzi, great-grandson of Giancana. The film is produced by Corey Grande (It follows) together with Celozzi (The class). Executive producers include John BurnhamArclight Movie’ Gary Hamilton AND Pia Patatiano, Giordano Nott, Bernie Gewissler AND Amar Balagan.
Hamilton said in a statement, “With the undeniable talent of David Mamet at the helm and our stellar cast led by Viggo Mortensen, Al Pacino, Shia LaBeouf and John Travolta, the stars have truly aligned. Murder is a gripping and gripping thriller set in a pivotal period in American history, brilliantly done by Mamet – it’s an absolutely fantastic project.
Production is expected to begin in September in Vancouver.
