John Travolta (pulp Fiction) AND Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy, Avenue of fireflies) will star in the upcoming romantic comedy film This is Love!and will be joined by Christopher Walken (Separation). The film will be directed by the two-time Academy Award winner Nicholas Vallelonga (Green book).
The story follows Nicholas Venus (Travolta), “who’s a modern ‘Marty’ – he’s never been married and his best dating years are behind him. He has never heard the words “I love you” and figures he never will. Patty Amore (Heigl) also has her share of problems. Shy and withdrawn, she is full of various tics and nervous habits. A secret from her past, coupled with her overprotective father, have forced her to retire from the dating game. But when Nick and Patty meet, literally colliding with each other, they share an instant bond. When these two emotionally damaged people try to date, their families get involved and the results are hilarious.
Travolta and Heigl playing love interests is interesting…. I presume? Seems like a strange pairing, but ok. Producer Tamara Birkemoe said in a statement, “We couldn’t be more excited to announce That’s Amore! as the first title in PPP’s list. The unrivaled star power and endearingly romantic appeal of this film are a testament to the quality of films PPP will continue to present to buyers in upcoming film markets.”
The film’s crew also includes the two-time Oscar-nominated cinematographer Dante Spinotto (The Last of the Mohicans), Oscar-winning production designer Gianni Quaranta (A room with a view), three-time Academy Award-nominated film editor Steven Rosenblum (Brave heart) and costume designer Betsy Heimann (Green Book).
