Peacock has released the first trailer for their upcoming original series Based on a true story. The series will star Kaley Cuoco (The flight attendant) AND Chris Messina (Air) as a loving couple going through difficult times. The pair start a true crime podcast after Cuoco’s character seemingly figures out who a serial killer is. The series is also starring Tom Bateman (Thirteen Lives) and will also include Natalia Dyer (Stranger things).
A dark and comedic thriller, BASED ON A TRUE STORY, is about a real estate agent, a former tennis star, and a plumber who seize a unique opportunity to capitalize on America’s obsession with true crime.
Based on a true story comes from the creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer Craig Rosenberg with Alex Good directing the first and last episode. The series will air for 8 episodes, all premiering June 8 only on Peacock.
