Former Doctor who star David Tennan is back as the Doctor in a new trailer for the series three special to celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary. Tennant played the 10th Doctor on the series, from 2006 to 2008, and now he’s making a comeback, making Tennant the 14th Doctor as well. He takes over as the 13th Doctor Jodie Whittaker. Is reached by Catherine Tatewho plays the Time Lord’s longtime sidekick, Donna Noble.
The titles of the three specials, which will be broadcast in November, have also been revealed. They are “The Star Beast”, “Wild Blue Yonder” and “The Giggle”.
The trailer is also the protagonist Heartstopper‘S Yasmine Finney AND how I Met Your Mother‘S Neil Patrick Harriswho are joining the franchise.
Showrunners Russell T Davies he said of the specials: “The titles are only the beginning of the Doctor’s greatest adventure. Autumn is coming, with three hours of danger, Donna, and disaster is about to strike!
In the meantime, Ncuti Gatwa is set to become the 15th Doctor, with his own series set to release later this year. He will be joined by Millie Gibson like Ruby Sunday. Production is already underway with the BBC revealing a sneak peek of the duo clad in 1960s attire.
The new Doctor who the specials and upcoming series will premiere in the UK and Ireland on the BBC. They will be available internationally on Disney+.
